Summer Revisited

To say that this past weekend was warm would be an understatement - it was a freaking September Indian Summer heat wave! With temperatures nearing 85 degrees at the peak of the afternoon on Sunday it was like being transported back into the peak of summer. It was so hot in fact that I was actually physically uncomfortable (which I know we will all be crying for in March) because I was sweating so much - and for those of you who know me...I don't do sweat.

The only thing that kept me cool and looking pulled together was wearing loose layers and partaking in lots of blotting - which is why this dress was so perfect (well the loose layers part, not the blotting...although the material resembles blotting paper so I guess that could have actually worked?). The light flowy layers allowed the breeze to help keep me cool and the high waistband kept me looking thin & trim which was especially nice considering the last month has seemed like week after week of multiple parties, outings and engagements involving richer food than normal and champagne (of course).

All that being said, definitely the perfect, I'm pretending it's still summer number.

Best part about it being Monday? It's going to be sunny and 80 again today...which is also the bad part considering it's Monday, 80 degrees and sunny and I have to work all day. Ugh. Coffee cheers (because I really can't handle any more champs right now especially not this early...though there is nothing wrong with breakfast drinking because this is a judgement free zone) to this weather sticking around until December 24th, snowing on the 25th and then going right back to the warm sunshine on the 26th.

Is that really too much to ask? I think not.
