Season of Change
This past week I had my hair cut and colored and my stylist, who also happens to be the owner at Salon Burke, asked if I would like him to straighten my hair...typically I decline, but this time I thought "why not?"
And so...here you have it; me with straight hair.
I barely even recognized myself, and neither did the husband. I didn't tell him I had straightened it so when I walked up to meet him in front of the restaurant for dinner he almost didn't realize it was me. It completely changes my look, mostly in my opinion in the way it frames the shape of my face, and I have to say I absolutely prefer my curls. It's fun to try something new every now and then, and I do love the color and cut that Burke did (seriously he's amazing and so sweet), but I adore my curls. They are honestly part of my identity, and such a luxury to have, so it wasn't more than 48 hours and I had washed them right back in.
You can really see here the great mix of highlights & lowlights - which will get me through the spring and then for summer I will likely do less lowlights and add in a more highlights. Overall though, my favorite color job yet. Plus, Salon Burke is an Aveda salon so they carry all my favorite products including the Be Curly line (of which I mostly use the curl enhancer creme and spray) and the Blue Malva Conditioner (life changing if you are a blonde, trust me).
What do you think, curly or straight better? Would love to hear your thoughts in the comments or on FB/Insta.
