Summer here in Maine is meant to be spent outdoors, so museums are typically not on my list of things to do in July & August, so I was pleasantly surprised to find out that the Portland Museum of Art was planning to hold their Contemporaries Midsummer Party outside in their Sculpture Park.
It was also an excuse to get dressed up with the husband and sneak out of work a little early mid-week, which really should be the only way to spend the middle of a work week now that I think about it!
I had been saving this floral number by Theia for just the right occasion and I'm happy I did because it paired perfectly with the requested 'Garden Party' attire.
Definitely a different cut and style for me with the high halter neckline; but I must admit I loved the angled layers of ruffles, the super girly print and the flowy material. And as dressy as this piece was for the evening event, it paired down quite well for a casual brunch look with a demin jacket and flats.
Cheers to summer garden parties.
