winter style + feathers + sheath dress + elizabeth and james

February 20, 2018

It happens every year - somewhere around mid-February I start to get a warm weather itch. I start missing weeknight dinners on the patio, maxi dresses, warm sunny walks on the beach and not having to layer up. I start telling myself that "winter is going to end early" this year and begin browsing spring and summer fashions, and then, like clockwork, we get a storm and my early spring hopes are dashed.

It's not that I dislike winter; in fact, my personal motto is that if it's going to be cold it might as well snow...I mean otherwise what's the point? I honestly enjoy winter. First and foremost it's absolutely beautiful, and secondly it's a great time of year to enojy indoor activities and to not feel bad about sleeping in on the weekends or enjoying long lazy Sundays on the couch watching football and Netflix.

The thing that gets to me is that I get tired of being cold, especially when it comes to going out for events and such when I can't be bundled up in my fleece lined pants, thermals, down jacket & bean boots.

But...a girls got to do what a girls got to do.

And sometimes that means freezing my butt off (quite literally) in a short feathered dress in the snow with no coat.

I mean, that's totally normal right?

See how warm I look here? It it wasn't for the snow and the glove I could have fooled you that it was 80 degrees and sunny.

Speaking of warm & it's going to be in the mid 40's and tomorrow we are looking at 60+ degrees. Talk about a heat wave!

(I caution you though, don't get too excited & put your winter clothes away or anything because there's more snow a'coming later this week)
