Color of Love
Who says you "have to" wear red or pink for Valentine's Day?
Certainly not me.
And coming from a true pink obsessed person that says a lot!
In fact, most Valentine's Day outings I've actually opted for black, not sure what that says about me...but on nights when I want to dress a bit more "sexy" I always reach for black. So this year, I thought why not shake it up a bit and go with a winter white instead.
And I could not have been happier with the end result - the dress was perfect for a little pre-Valentine's Day getaway with the husband to Kennebunkport where they celebrate love all month long in February with a "Paint the Town" red theme and slew of fabulous events.
So fabulous in fact that we are headed back this weekend for some more fun.
I just love how the entire town gets into the theme - with special sales a local stores, cocktail receptions, wine tastings, truffle making & oyster shucking classes and my personal favorite...the DJs and dancing! I mean who doesn't want to shake their booty - especially when it's freezing cold outside - it's the perfect way to burn calories while sipping champagne (which you all know are my two favorite things).
Our hotel, The Grand Hotel, was especially festive with a giant red heart out front that glowed each night welcoming us back. They also spoiled us with a fabulous room, in room goodies and delicious chocolates at turn down.
Not to mention the heated bathroom floors which left me never wanting to leave, and adding another "must have" for our next home.
I'd be remiss if I also didn't gush about this coat - which although outside of my usual color and style palette - was a big hit over the weekend and perfect for the indoor/outdoor Ice Bar party that we attended. I absolutely loved the fur details on the sleeves and bottm and it made a seamless transition from daytime shopping to an evening out.
To say I am excited to head back to Kennenunkport this weekend would be an understatement - I can't wait to get out on the dance floor and enjoy some relaxation with the husband. After all...it is the month of love.
