Carnival

February 14, 2016

Last week the husband and I traveled north for a mini-getaway to enjoy Winter Carnival in Quebec City. Just 5 hours north and it was like being transported to a different world - cobblestone steets, beautiful brick and stone chateuax-esque buildings, the smell of fresh pastry in the streets and snow falling ever so perfectly.

We enjoyed two nights at the Fairmont Le Chateau Frontenac, which is a historic and ridiculously stunning property that I would highly suggest should you ever make your way to Quebec City. As if the fact that the hotel looks like a castle in the clouds wasn't already enough, they topped it off with impeccable service, newly renovated rooms and wonderful amenities including an indoor pool, spa and large fitness center. You also can't beat the location; we were able to walk to all of the Winter Carnival festivities, parks, shops, restaurants and had amazing views of the city and water from our room.

The biggest selling factor for me were their on site bars & restaurants. Our personal favorite was 1608 - Wine & Cheese bar which was quite possibly the most stunningly decorate bar I have ever seen (take a peek below). The attention to detail was unreal, and it's hard to see but the bar is actually a round room and the windows overlook the water and the busy walkways below. We came both nights, and our last night cancelled a dinner reservations and opted to just eat in the bar instead because we loved it so much. And don't even get me started on their hand crafted cocktails - they take it to another level here.

I'm already planning on how we can recreate their light fixtures in our home and their copper bar gear for our bar cart.

It was such a great stay, so much so that we are already planning a trip back this summer or fall so that we can further explore the city.

More to come from our trip over the next few days, as well as our trip to the famous Hotel Glace.

Let the Good Times Roll

January 21, 2016

We recently traveled to Santa Barbara for my best friend's wedding and decided to stay just a bit outside of the town in Goleta so that we could experience the newly renovated Goodland Hotel, a member of the Kimpton Hotel family. Located just 10 minutes outside of Santa Barbara this sleepy surf town is an absolute oasis of style, fun and good vibes.

We were picked up at the train station by a hotel representative and as soon as we walked in and I saw this lobby I was in love. Lets talk about home decor goals! Probably one of the best styled properties that I have seen, I loved every aspect and detail.

And then there was the airstream located in the drive, a total blast from the past and definitely something they need to start selling as an actual room - it's furnished to a perfect t!

We were pampered every step of the way, thanks to being Inner Circle Members, including the best welcome gift ever! Handcrafted cocktails, personalized snack tray and welcome note. Talk about starting the say off on a good note!

I can honestly say I didn't even want to leave the hotel - they have everything you need for a stellar vacation including a large pool with poolside service, fitness center, bar and lounge (that's really happening at night) and an amazing reastaurant (and trust me we tried every single meal). The decor alone had me drooling but once I had the food and frosty beverages I was in love.

And then there was our room, which I would call minimalistic cool with a retro vibe (new design term folks), and man was our bed cozy. #bestsleepever

I could have easily moved into the airstream and stayed for a month - we can't wait to get back!

Napa Bachelorette Hit List

September 1, 2015

I am still recovering from this past weekend in Napa for my best friend's Bachelorette Weekend, but I must say...we could not have had a better group of girls, weather or agenda. Just how I had imagined it would complete with a happy and stunning bride-to-be!

Here are some of my favorite snaps from the weekend, and I will share our itinerary below as well.

We stayed at the Silverado Resort & Spa which was absolutely beautiful and oh-so-grand with white pillars, sparkling pools and surrounded by rolling hills. Since there were 6 of us we opted for a three bedroom suite, which as recently renovated, and with came equipped with a full living room, two patio, fireplace, kitchen dining room and large bedroom/bathroom areas perfect for getting ready. I made welcome bags for each gal and had them waiting in the room along with some champs for a toast.

Inside the bag I had a hangover kit, titled "for when the bubbly bites", which contained chapstick, tylonal, mints, mouthwash, lotion, tissues and visine, travel lotions, gummie bears, M&Ms & water. In addition I made some pretty darn cute packaging for nylong hair ties that read "to have and to hold...your hair back" (on insta if you wanted to take a peek).

We arrived bright and early on Saturday morning and started at the spa with manicures, pedicures & mimosas followed by our Escalade pick up, provided by National Limo. For the rest of the day our driver escorted us all around town stopping at Chandon, Darioush, Oakville Grocery for lunch, and a CakeBread (who I might add were about to close but still gave us a tasting and allowed us to enjoy their garden).

That night for dinner we were off to Torc, which was downtown Napa and absolutely unreal. Their food selection was not only unique & fresh but was well presented and impeccably flavored. Definitely a great place for a group with a large floor to ceiling architecture filled with a vibrant and lively atmopshere.

On Sunday morning I enjoyed a morning run along the golf course and was lucky enough to see the hot air balloons going up making it a  quintessential Napa run. Then we all packed up and headed to brunch at Ad Hoc in Yountville (highly suggest advance resos), which was hands down the best brunch I have ever had btw, followed by a little Thomas Kellar garden tour and some shopping.

It was a jam packed two days and was definitely one of the best parts of my MOH duties for my bestie muffin.

I can't believe that this sunday my very dearest friend will be getting married!! I cannot wait to arrive in Santa Barbara Friday.

Make sure to keep up with me on Insta...let the festivities begin!

Cheers!
