One of my absolute favorite parts of traveling is the way that time seems to stand still. The days just seem longer when you are away - and although I do love to fill our vacations with longs lists of things to do and see...I also enjoy vacations that have no agenda at all. No place to be at a certain time and the ability to change the course of the day on a whim.
That's just what we did on our recent trip to Manchester, VT - and it was amazing.
We checked into the Taconic Hotel and immediately felt relaxed and at home. The property was stunning, especially the suite that they upgraded us to (more on the hotel & Manchester this weekend), and the first thing we did was grab a glass of wine and head out to their front porch to enjoy the afternoon sun.
The weather was sunny with a bit of a spring chill - perfect for lounging by their firepit in this cozy knit. Added bonus was that we had the pup with us, and since Kimpton properties are uber pet friendly he was able to enjoy the fire in his own little chair right beside us. It could not have been a better way to kick off our mini-vacay.
It's almost the weekend and I must admit, I am wishing we were back at the Taconic relaxing and sipping on wine without a thing to do all weekend...
